Tweets from Twitter have been popping up all over the place, and they’re getting displayed fancier than ever. But, they’re not just great looking…they’re also very functional. You can Follow a user, link to them, Reply, Retweet, and Favorite.
Here’s an example of what I’m talking about:
May the 4th be with you! #StarWarsDay
— Darth Vader (@darthvader) May 4, 2010
Have you ever wondered how people are doing this? It’s actually incredibly simple.
From WordPress
If you’re running a WordPress blog and have updated your blog to the newest version, the process really couldn’t be easier. All you need to do in the newest version of WordPress is copy the URL of a Tweet from Twitter and then paste it into WordPress on its own line.
Then just paste it into its own line in WordPress:
Following those simple steps in WordPress will render this way in updated versions of WordPress:
May the 4th be with you! #StarWarsDay
— Darth Vader (@darthvader) May 4, 2010
Not WordPress
Don’t worry, all you non-Wordpress users, you can get the exact same result…with just a little more work.
You need to go to Twitter and find the Tweet that you would like to embed:
Click the Details link:
Click the Embed this Tweet link:
Then all you need to do is choose the options of alignment that you want in your post, copy the HTML, and paste it into your website.
As you can see, no matter what platform you’re using, they’ve made it pretty easy to pull this off.
